ACT Down Syndrome Association

ACT Down Syndrome Association (ACTDSA) provides support and information to families with a member who has Down syndrome. ACTDSA promotes improvements in the qualitiy of life for persons with Down syndrome and stimulates, within the wider community, an awareness of the very real abilities and needs of people with Down syndrome.

ACT ME/CFS Society Inc

Provides support and  information for people affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and/or Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) in the Canberra region.  We provide monthly support group meetings, a self help course and Telephone Information and Support Service.

Motor Neurone Disease Association NSW/ACT

Provides support and information for people effected by Motor Neurone Disease.  To promote optimal care outcomes for people living with MND and enable research that will identify the cause and lead to better care, control and ultimately a cure for MND.

Brain Tumour Alliance Australia

BTAA is the only national brain tumour patient and caregiver organisation in Australia. It was established in late 2008 by a group of brain tumour patients and current and former caregivers.  While welcoming the advice and input of specialists, BTAA seeks to represent the brain tumour community from the viewpoint of the patient, family and caregiver.

Bosom Buddies ACT Inc

Bosom Buddies is an ACT-Based non-profit organisation of volunteers who provide personal support to breast cancer patients and their families in the ACT and surrounding region.  Over 350 people are diagnosed every year in our region.

Canberra/Queanbeyan ADD Support Group Inc

The Canberra/Queanbeyan ADD support group provides information and support to adults and parents of children with ADD/ADHD in the Canberra region. Our aims are to provide information and reference material, newsletters, library access, networking and sharing information and support group meetings held once a month.

Canberra Region Kidney Support Group

The Canberra Region Kidney Support Group (CRKSG) is a patient self-help group made up of people with kidney failure and their families, carers and friends.

Friends of the Brain Injured Children

Friends of the Brain Injured Children aims to help children with brain injury achieve maximum recovery. The organisation encourages the use of a wide range of early intensive therapies, and provides the families of children with brain injury the support, information and financial assistance for therapy.

Heart Support Australia (ACT Regional Branch)

The ACT Regional Branch of Heart Support Australia provide support, information and self management programs to people with a heart condition.

Parkinson’s ACT Inc

Parkinson’s ACT Inc promotes the well-being interests of people with Parkinson’s disease and their families, friends and carers in the ACT and nearby region. We are a voluntary, non-profit organisation providing information, support and education for people living with Parkinsons’s.

People with Disabilities ACT Inc

PWD ACT Inc is a not for profit consumer systemic advocacy organisation who work to represent the interests of people with disabilities in the ACT.  Our commitment is to improve access to all amenities, information and activities in the Canberra region.

Prostate Cancer Support Group ACT Region

Our group is a friendly, voluntary association of men who have been diagnosed as having prostate cancer, and their partners.  We provide information, advice and assistance, promote awareness within the broader community and provide information resources regarding health, diagnosis and treatment options.

Tjillari Justice Aboriginal Corporation

Tjillari Justice is a not for profit organisation started in 2014 to address the toxic stress and trauma children experience when they have a parent involved in the justice system.

We are self funded and raise revenue by designing, developing and delivering workshops to the Government and private sector and philanthropic grants.

Our mission is to break the cycle of intergenerational offening by addressing the developmental, social and emotional needs of children affected by parental incarceration.

Our objectives are:

  1. To provide an independent counselling and advocacy service for all children affected by parental incarceration
  2. To advocate for children whose parent/s are incarcerated with Government ,community and educational institutions.
  3. To support carers, kinship carers and families of children whose parent/s are incarcerated
  4. To educate the community, families and Government Agencies on the impact parental involvement with the justice system has on children

We accomplish this mission through the design and development of workshops, curriculum kits, and other skill building resources for families, carers and family service organisations across the country so that as a community we can raising resilient children and healthy families.
