Membership of SHOUT is open to Health and Disability based self-help/peer support groups (Incorporated or unincorporated). There are 2 levels of membership offered, Full and Affiliate, to reflect the differing needs of organisations. Full members have access to the full range of services and have voting rights. Membership is by application to the SHOUT Board of Management.
Membership Fees and Services
• Fee scales are set annually at the A.G.M.. The Membership Fee is $195, pro-rata if joining through the year. - Members who infrequently use the facilities should have a rebate available to them. If a members use of SHOUT facilities in the previous year has only been average, a rebate of $50 will apply, and if less than average the rebate will be $75. The level of membership fee is based on the occasions of service statistics coupled with records kept of secretariat services provided to members. In structuring the fee scale those members attracting greater than average usage rate would be balanced by members with below average usage.
• Services available for this fee are as follows: - access to shared desk space in the office - use of meeting room for monthly meetings - telephone answering services - mail collection from SHOUT letterbox - IT support - administrative support/advice/referral - limited storage space + • Affiliate members services (see rules) @$10/yr: - inclusion in mailing list for SHOUT News/ SHOUTing - members pamphlets displayed at SHOUT - inclusion on contact and referral data base/list - inclusion in listing on website - invitation to participate in any displays/promotions (ie ACT Alive) - invitation to join any training workshops organised through SHOUT - may book/use resources on a user pays basis as per fee structure, use of meeting room.

For additional charges:
• The following additional charges apply:
- Photocopying: 6 cents/copy, 1 cent discount if using own paper
- Faxing: Local: 50cents for 1st page + 30cents for additional pgs STD: $1 + 50cents
- Telephone: Local and STD calls as per SHOUT records and Telstra Bill
- Volunteers Insurance: Total Account divided by number of members participating +1
- Exclusive desk and office space (when available) : $70/sq. metre with a rebate of 2 sq. metres when
area exceeds 12 sq. m
- Opening & recording mail: $5 per month - Inclusion of member in White Pages entry by SHOUT: Cost of entry - Merchant Facilities 3.77% each merchant transaction
Word processing Word processing/ secretarial services charge for work performed by the office Co-ordinator for the Member which exceeds 1 hr / month. An hourly rate will apply.
Printing charge for use of colour laser printer of 30 cents per page full colour or 10c/page for letter head, advise staff of useage.
Laminating charge if materials provided by SHOUT are used of 50c per A4 sheet and 80c per A3 sheet.
